There again Philips products of all sorts were widely available back then. The C60s must have been widely available. Nearly all the blank cassettes I bought in the 1970s were Philips C60s, the ones with red dots on the packaging, although I don't remember where I bought them or for how much. You wouldn't have saved much money putting those onto tape. I'm not sure about the 1960s but in the 1970s the widely sold Music for Pleasure LPs were £1 each. For those of you not familiar with Pounds, Shillings and Pence, which the UK used until 1971, those prices are 87.5p and £1.25.įeed those through the Bank of England Inflation calculator and you get £15.80 and £22.75 in 2019 prices respectively.
